Bondi Beach, Australia’s most famous strip of sand, was the location of my first ever ocean swim when I raced in the inaugural Bondi Splash and Dash in November 2014. So it was only fitting that I would return here for an ocean swim during my visit to Sydney.
Most of us, though, are staying well within our comfort zone, because it is, well – comfortable. I think we should leave that bubble for a bit and go exploring to see what else life has to offer.

Once upon a time… When I was a student I didn’t have much disposable income and while I worked
